First off let me say that if you ever find yourself with time to waste or simply bored head over to http://break.com. It is filled with hysterical videos & pictures that for the most part are only mildly inappropriate. It was on Break.com that I found the following picture so now on to our story….
I get a lot of "Curves" refugees. So for the most part I am glad they are there. They are what they are, and if you are a Curves devotee than good for you- I applaud your effort. I know that for some people it is just what the doctor ordered (sometimes literally). Just because I think that it is a wussifed version of what a workout should be, well it is just my opinion. And as you know opinions are just like, well you know.
No matter my thoughts on the Curves workout philosophy apparently they can do something I cannot – lighten you. Literally.
This is an actual photo from a box of Curves Honey Crunch cereal. Notice the belly and head do not match. I guess "…take it off and keep it off" means your color. She seems to be happy about it anyway. Many have speculated that since there is no belly button that she is an alien she is wearing and undershirt – that may be. No matter what it is a horrible Photoshop job.
It should also be said that the cereal itself is crap. Below is the nutritional label. 45 carbs per cup. Who eats only one cup? It is a high carb cereal just like all the rest. I’m sure it tastes great. I’m sure I could plow through a box in no time. But a good fat loss cereal – I think not.
It seems I am going all over the place on this one but lets think for a sec: carbs are a fuel source. Body fat is a fuel source. When fat loss is the goal why would your body choose to burn its stored energy reserves (bodyfat) when Yummy Honey Crunch is being funneled down your pie hole? Your body strives for efficiency. It will always choose the energy source that offers the least amount of effort to access. In this case we are talking about Curves Duo-Tone Crunch. You see body fat is relatively hard to access and digested carbs relatively easy. This is why your body will always choose the path of least resistance.
When putting together your fat loss nutrition program you need to make bodyfat the preferred energy source for your body. It takes some work, but your nutrition is completely under your control so make smart decisions. Hopefully good decisions will lead you to products that will not make your belly a different color than your face.
Got questions – Ask.

Josh, oh Josh,
obviously you didn’t do any research before you shot this off for all to see. To bad because until you become part of the Curves family you will never know why the womans colors are different. Oh yea, you’re a guy so you may never know unless you have a woman in your life that might be able to share the information with you. But from the sound or tone of your writing you may be eligible to becomea member yourself. 45 carbs in a cup of cerial, oh well better than 50. If you want to compare apples to apples let’s take a look at every so called diet food on the market and see where the real bad carbs are. And if you knew what Curves was all about you would know that Curves is not a diet store but rather a 30 minute workout place to better your life. So the next time you think what you think you know without 1st doing at least a little research please don’t because you have no idea.

I’m not sure exactly what you are saying, but ok. Like I said Curves is what it is. And it is better than sitting on your butt for sure. Places like Curves and Weight Wathcers have helped more people than I could ever dream of helping but in my opinion their methods are less than optimal. And whoever is in charge of Photoshop at General Mills needs his eyes checked. And yes most diet food is total crap. Now you Curves people need to lighten up- the whole point is that the picture is rediculous and the “diet” cereal is not all that diety.

OK JC…
Why don’t you ask a CURVES Smart for a work out.. then you san make youor comment about WUSSIFED… Would love to see you gettting smart!

Like you said, Curves is what it is…so why put down something that HAS helped so many people. Have you nothing better to do? Or, is Curves maybe a threat????
Many of our members have lost weight and look better because of their workouts, but the biggest accomplishment is so many of our members who have cut down or cut their medications for high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc…or have cut it out completely. Other accomplishments are getting that bone mass nice and strong in people who were losing that battle before Curves. Another accomplishment? All of the women who were afraid to join other places because of the “meat market” mentality who are now moving and bettering their lives. Another accomplishment? All of the women who band together when one of them loses a family member, when lives are changed by storms, or simply when they need a friend. Or…people, like myself…able to start up a business…and a successful one at that, who is humbled daily by the amount of lives we as a team at Curves were allowed to make better and healthier…
And all because of a wussified workout…GoFigure!
We are in the business of empowering people…Body, Mind, Heart and Soul. We are not in the business of putting down companies just because we don’t like their cereal box…which was your point to your blog if I’m not mistaken. Which, if you were to step into a Curves and see the posters we had up, you would know that the shirt layered underneath is a ribbed tee…which is plainly seen on a bigger shot.
Don’t judge a book by it’s cover…or a company by it’s cereal box Mr. Carter.
We do lose some members to competiting clubs, and no, Curves is not for everyone…just as I’m sure your programs are not for everyone either. You do your thing…we’ll do ours. We’re not in the business to bulk up muscles, nor do we primp and tease our hair to workout. We’re interested in long term effects, getting and staying healthy, and letting women know they don’t have to look like a supermodel BEFORE they walk into a fitness club. And, just like you, I’m sure, we provide people with the tools they need to succeed and then, it’s up to them to make the changes in their lives.
…tools like our Yummy Curves Cereal…have ya tried it?
Hey JC!
I think you are hysterical!
“…when Yummy Honey Crunch is being funneled down your pie hole?” LOL! I almost pee’d my pants!
I am a Curves owner, and like you, think the cereal box is rediculous. However, when you see the box in person you can tell the woman is wearing two shirts because you can see the fabric’s texture. Like you, I also agree that the cereal should be more health conscious. I personally found it to be too sweet.
Anyway, thanks for the hysterical post and you do get a pat-on-the-back for helping people (women included) achieve their heath and fitness goals.
Lisa <- Who’s stomach is the same color as her face.
You Curves folks (Curvers? Curvees?) are a militant bunch. Never have I gotten so much feed back so quickly. I have a new found repect for you guys. Keep on keepin on.
JC
BTW- My favorite line was “Duo-Tone Crunch”
Well, ir you had done any kind of research or seen the poster you would know that she has a tank or or tee underneath her shirt that is the same hue as the orange shirt. And as a woman of more color than you, obviously, my stomach is not the same hue as the rest of me. Hmmmmmmmm, could it be because it doesn’t see much sunlight except in the summertime. Grow up!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with you about the high carbs. in the Curves Honey nut Crunch Cereal, a lot of my members that are also involved in Wieght Watchers say it is to high in carbs. for them to have.
How ever I love it!
I also agree that Curves is not for everyone, but we are working with our women to achieve a healthy life style. Our goal is to stengthen and stay healthy. Curves clubs all over the world are achieving this.
So I still stand by Curves and challange anyone to try us!
